Whole Moreton Bay Bugs GREEN (150 gram each)

Bugs have a sweet delicate taste with a medium flesh texture. The flesh of the Moreton Bay bug is unusually versatile, and can be cooked in a variety of ways, including BBQ, deep-frying, boiling/poaching, steaming, or stir-frying.

One common way of preparing this lobster in Thai cuisine is by deep-frying the chopped pieces in a garlic and turmeric flour coating.

Moreton Bay Bugs are found along the entire coast of the northern half of Australia. They live on the sea bed, in turbid inshore coastal waters from 10 metres to 30 metres in depth over soft, unconsolidated mud and fine sand and silt particles.

Recipe Of The Week..

Fettuccine with Salmon, Asparagus and Capers in Lemon and Dill Oil

Salmon and dill is another one of those unbeatable combinations that has stood the test of time. In this recipe I have included a few ingredients that are very complimentary to both the salmon and dill but still allow them to be the dominant flavours in the dish. This recipe can be made using either smoked salmon (as I’ve done here) or fresh.
